PreID Disconnect Purging Disconnects have traditionally been one of the most inefficient parts of random digit (RDD) sampling. Unfortunately, the cost to eliminate these disconnects prior to being "in the field" has been relatively high. Highly accurate, fast, and inexpensive, STS PreID is the state-of-the-art in disconnect purging. STS PreID will normally identify one-half to two-thirds of all disconnects in any RDD sample. Many fax numbers are also identified. For example, a straight RDD sample without screening which contained 16% disconnected numbers might only have an 8% disconnect rate after the PreID screening -- which may translate to saving several thousand dialings. With STS PreID, maximizing the efficiency RDD samples by pre-identifying disconnects doesn't have to compromise your budget.

Overall, PreID disconnect purging is a "win-win" situation. We encourage you to do a side by side comparison. Run one project straight RDD and the next disconnect screened. Then compare. We are sure you will see (like many of our clients who have done this) that at 1 to 1.5 cents per number disconnect screening saves money. Beware of "those other guys" that charge 3 cents additional or more to screen out disconnects. This is not a good deal. How It Works STS programmers have developed the state-of-the-art system for removing non-productive numbers from RDD samples. Using top-of-the-line telephone industry equipment, STS PreID eliminates disconnects by listening to "intercept tones" to determine if a specific telephone number has been disconnected. Turnaround Time For PreID Disconnect Purged RDD Samples Since we have such a large capacity, STS PreID disconnect purging requires only a minimal amount of additional time. And, in 95% of all cases, the disconnect screening will not cause any additional time whatsoever. Thus, when ordering an STS RDD sample, standard turnaround (24 hours or less) or same-day service (often 1 hour or less) jobs should not be affected.
